Invisalign™ Offered to San Diego Patients

While traditional metal braces have done the job quite well and their design has improved over the years too, orthodontic patients have always looked for a better, lightweight alternative. Thanks to the founders of Align Technology that they invented the much-awaited aligner called Invisalign.

If you plan to achieve a smile you have long desired, Invisalign is one of the most advanced solutions you’d love to take up.

What is Invisalign?

Invisalign is a customizable aligner system that can be used to effectively treat the misalignment of teeth. Having a similar look as a dental retainer, Invisalign is a set of clear, removable plastic trays which are proven to eliminate the flaws of a smile – without attracting anybody’s attention.

For anyone who feels disappointed to wear metal brackets and wire braces, Invisalign is quite a pleasant choice. Available both for adults and teens, an Invisalign causes less pain and is easy to take out whenever required. Unlike traditional braces, you can easily remove an Invisalign when you want to eat or brush your teeth. At a restorative dental office, you can get this advanced aligner system as a part of your orthodontic treatment to straighten misaligned teeth.

The design of an Invisalign is a simplified one. In fact, you’ll be surprised to find out how such a simple-looking aligner system can be used to straighten smiles. Made up of thermoplastic resin, this revolutionary aligner is strong enough to move your teeth into the ideal position gently and works equally good as metal braces. It’s due to the effectiveness of this aligner system that its popularity has only been escalating since it was first introduced in the field of cosmetic dentistry. Usually, an Invisalign is generated through a computer, based on the impression of a patient’s teeth. A dentist or an orthodontist collects the impression and then crafts a series of Invisalign to treat the misalignment of teeth in patients.

How Does the Invisalign System Work?

The Invisalign treatment begins with an initial consultation, which Dr. Salami is happy to offer at her dental clinic.

A select provider for Invisalign, Dr. Salami will first ask you a few questions, identify your specific orthodontic requirements and decide whether you are a perfect candidate for the Invisalign system. Once your eligibility for the treatment has been determined, Dr. Salami will move forward and get started with the process of crafting custom clear aligners to straighten your smile.

At her office, Dr. Salami will carry out a detailed 3D scan of your teeth and gums. This data will then be used to create an accurate treatment plan for your specific orthodontic case. This plan includes the movement of your teeth and duration of the treatment. In addition, you may also get to actually see what your new smile will look like after the Invisalign treatment is completed.

Finally, a unique set of clear aligners will be designed. Depending on the specificity of your case, your Invisalign series may contain anywhere between 10 and 48 plastic trays. The duration taken for the treatment to complete varies between 12 and 18 months. In case of slightly misaligned teeth, the period can be shorter. You’ll be required to wear each aligner for a period of 2 weeks before replacing it with the next one in your Invisalign series. Though you can take out the aligners when required, wearing them regularly is a high recommend.

For best results, you’ll need to have the aligners on for 20-22 hours every day throughout the entire treatment period.

Dr. Salami has several years of proven clinical expertise in the Invisalign system. Her in-depth knowledge, fine-tuned skills and extensive experience allows her to create precise, efficient and aesthetically pleasing results.

Advantages of Invisalign Treatment

Faster Results

Invisalign is a great solution to get the smile you have always wished for. This treatment has a better response rate as compared to traditional aligners. Provided you follow your orthodontist’s advice carefully, you can always expect to get much faster results with this aligner system.

Accurate Fit

Thanks to the advanced Invisalign technology, the clear aligners are custom made for exact fit. A team of engineers and scientists work hard to craft each aligner in a way that it fits comfortably around your teeth. Special care is also taken to ensure the aligners improve tooth movement.

The most important benefit of the Invisalign system is its effectiveness to treat a wide range of dental conditions. Whether you suffer from crowded teeth, gaps in between teeth, crossbites, overbites or underbites, these clear aligners are proven to treat all these and many more.

An Invisalign is transparent, which means you’ll not attract attention while receiving the treatment. You can wear these clear aligners and go on with your daily life without appearing awkward.

Ease of Use

Unlike traditional braces, you can easily put these aligners on and then take them off whenever you need. When you want to have anything other than water or eat food that’s sticky or crunchy, Invisalign can be removed and then worn again.

The Invisalign system of orthodontic treatment saves you a lot of time as well. These aligners are free from brackets or wires, so you won’t be visiting the dentist with fitting issues anymore. The dentist will call you to their office only at the interval of every six weeks.
